Repair instead of replacing components
Our laser cladding processes can repair expensive components damaged through mis-machining, saving the cost of manufacturing a new part.
Cladding is a good option for casting repair instead of scrapping the component or using a more conventional repair method such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), which takes much longer. Cladding can also be used to repair unweldable materials.
For the paper industry, we have also successfully used cladding for journal repairs. Laser cladding enables a thinner surface, which requires less machining afterwards.
